Who we are

Mathias Schmitz formed our insurance agency over 100 years ago in Northtown of Chicago, IL. While we had only a few insurance options available in the early days, today our company operates as a full-service insurance provider. G.L. Schmitz & Co., Inc. offers several personal and commercial insurance solutions to meet the unique needs of our clients. Our recommendations are tailored to meet your personal insurance and financial goals.

Our financial planning experts have over 100 years of collective experience in the insurance industry.

Gerry Schmitz has been in the insurance business since 1962. In addition to being an insurance agent, Gerry has performed claim services and inspections and issued policies. Gerry has been married for 45 years, with two children and two grandchildren.

James Bond is an experienced insurance professional and has been in the business for 46 years. As an experienced financial adviser, he has worked at G.L. Schmitz & Co., Inc. for the past 20 years assisting clients with their general insurance needs. Although he helps clients of all ages and backgrounds, James takes a lot of pride in helping seniors and future retirees.
